I oppose the draft exemption in its current form. As a patient, the access to my body’s own tissue is a serious concern. FDA’s new draft guidance would further limit what my physician can do to help heal or treat my condition. I've been paralyzed from a stroke for 8 years and stem cell research is the only hope I have.  If I have no hope, I have no alternative but to end my miserable existence. Please don't take away my only hope.

I recently joined a company that is making huge advancements in the regeneration market.  We just retained a group to obtain our first FDA approval for urinary incontinence. TVEMF Therapy up-regulates the bodies own natural healing system as well as the bodies own cells.  This will be a non invasive therapy to heal at a much quicker and safer pace.  Take a look at Endonovo Therapeutics (www.endonovo.com) Feel free to reach out to me if you would like additional info at edickson@endonovo.com

Well here's a step in the right direction. But it may just be lip-service. A major pharmaceutical company will finally do what they are legally and morally obligated to do; that is, release data from ALL of their clinical trials. As you know, I recently wrote several articles on my blog about how the major drug companies fudge their data (about 95% of all clinical trials run by Big Pharma) and hide their clinical trials that don't come up with the conclusions they want to make public (about 30%). Maybe this will start a trend amongst the other 19 major drug companies. But it's the fudged data I really worry about. Currently clinical trial data submissions from Big Pharma have no oversight and new drugs are licenced on the basis of such submissions to the FDA. By the time Cochrane gets around to disproving the data and refuting their results years later, the drug companies have made billions, and moreover, they don't even have to withdraw the drug from the market...just pay the billion dollar fine and carry on like it never happened. You think I'm exaggerating? It's actually far worse than that. If you'd like to read more on the dirty secrets of the drug companies, read the book: "Deadly Medicines and Organised Crime: How Big Pharma has Corrupted Healthcare" by Peter C. Gotzsche. It's a jaw-dropping tale (carefully researched by a former drug company insider) of how we have all been duped into thinking that clinical trials provide 'evidence' in medical science and how governments have all be co-opted and corrupted by the massive amount of money that Big Pharma throws around. This should be required reading for every citizen living in what we believe to be a 'democracy'.

More stem cell update from the CCSVICLINIC which is changing history and lives..

http://www.ccsviclinic.ca/?p=882\\

While US courts conduct legal battles over the ethics of stem cell research and Big Pharma shuts down clinical trials citing ‘tighter budgets’, North Americans wait for solid proof of stem cell efficacy for many disease conditions. Health organizations such as the National Cancer Institute issue continual warnings about lack of proof for stem cell therapy. National media shows like CBSs’ 60 Minutes, paid for by their advertisers that include Big Pharma, perform razor-sharp hatchet jobs on those quack clinics doing fake stem cell therapy, but in the process paint every other clinic everywhere doing stem cell research and therapy with the same brush.

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum. My name is Peg. I suffer with chronic neuropathic pelvic pain due to complications of an hysterectomy. I have tried everything offered to patients here in the U.S. I currently have a medtronics pump receiving my pain medications. On September 5, 2013, I received 2 treatments of adipose stem cells for a study for peripheral neuropathy. The study is being done by the California Stem Cell Institute. They have a list of physicians located throughout the U.S. I chose Dr. Todd Malan of Innovative Cosmetics in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is a board certified ob/gyn & cosmetic surgeon. My pre-op visit with Dr. Malan lasted 2 hours. He told me that he had wanted to do stem cell studies for many years. Dr. Malan thoroughly went over my case; explained the study & the fda guidelines; the different types of stem cells & their purpose; how my body could benefit from the stem cells; the procedure for obtaining the stem cells; what to expect post-op; the follow-ups for the next 3 years; & the importance of journaling daily. Dr. Malan obtained a total 60 million stem cells from my abdomen through a mini liposuction. I received 15 million in my IV. Dr. Malan then injected 45 million stem cells into the damaged area of my vaginal cuff. I was totally happy with my entire experience with Dr. Malan & his staff. They are truly Christian professionals who care & pray for their patients. My total cost for the 2 treatments was $12,000. I had called a couple clinics outside the U.S. They wanted to charge me anywhere from $25-30 thousand for 1 treatment!! Plus, I am happy that my data will be presented to the FDA! We need this data in order to have stem cell therapy in the U.S.! So far, I've seen a decrease in my pain score by 3-4 points. I am also relieved of back spasms from my pump & a bulging disc of my lower back. My skin disease called granuloma annulare has greatly improved since the therapy. Dr. Malan told me that my stem cells will continue to work to remove scar tissue, & rebuild blood vessels, nerves, tissue over the next 4 months. I journal everyday my pain scores, & any other improvements. I will continue to give updates on my progress. I firmly believe that God guided me to Dr. Malan's clinic. The entire staff continue to pray for my progress with GOD'S STEM CELLS! Take care & God Bless...............Peg

@SammyJoW @Peg1

SammyJoW,

I totally agree with you. I am so afraid that the FDA is going to label stem cells as medication. Dr. Malan told me that if the fda is successful, this will put us back another nine years before any stem cells clinical trials will happen in the U.S. It all boils down to politics, power, & money! The pharmaceutical companies want to get their hands on stem cells. So, they are trying to persuade the fda to label stem cells as medication. It is so sad that nobody is thinking about those who are suffering with horrible diseases & fighting for their lives! I am a firm believer in stem cells & will help to spread the word! BTW, where are you going to receive higher stem cell counts? Take care................Peg1

@Peg1 @SammyJoW  Because I have a degenerative disease, multiple sclerosis, I require high dose stem cells, expanded in a lab to a dose of hundreds of millions of mesenchymal stem cells. Celttex was the only cell bank in the USA offering this service to doctors and their patients in 2012, but the FDA managed to shut down the IRB that was overseeing this study. Celltex has made arrangements with an excellent hospital in Cancun Mexico. So patients have to travel farther, but at least we can still get this life saving therapy.

@Peg1 Thank you for sharing your results, and please keep us posted.This is important for everyone to understand that many conditions can respond well to "low dose" stem cells, extracted and delivered back to the patient on the same day. Many of us with chronic disease require high dose cells, expanded from our own over several weeks in the lab, and we are fighting for that too. Any therapy that eases suffering using our own stem cells should be allowed is the US!

Claire,  I am privileged to be a part of a group that supports and embraces stem cell research....especially adult stem cells.  My son has been a paraplegic since 2001 and had a small relationships with Chris Reeve.  I am on a mission to create an unparallel advocacy and awareness with this incredible medical research.  Love to share my story more.

@Blaine Bourne Our administrator, SJ Wilkinson, would like to know if you would write about your son's condition and treatment for an article to be featured here?

Best,

Claire
